Practical Support for Real-Life Challenges

Professional, action-oriented therapeutic counselling in New Zealand. Helping you move forward intentionally, rather than simply looking back indefinitely.

Welcome, I'm Emie.

I am a Registered Social Worker and practicing therapist with post-graduate expertise in mental health and addictions. I believe that therapy shouldn't feel like an endless loop of looking backward. You live in a busy, complex world, and your therapy should reflect that.

My practice is designed to be grounded, practical, and highly collaborative. I don't just look at what's happening inside your head; I look at your whole environment, your daily stressors, and what is draining your energy. Together, we focus on where you are now and build a concrete path to where you want to be.

Qualifications/Registrations: Registered Social Worker: Social Workers Registration Board (SWRB), ANZASW member: Aotearoa New Zealand Association of Social Workers, Accredited Behavioural Health Consultant: Integrated Primary Mental Health, Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science (Mental Health & Addictions) – Auckland University of Technology, Bachelor of Social Work – Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology

How We Work

My Approach: Talking, Planning, Learning

1. Talking: We start by safely unpacking your story. We look at the big picture of your life—your relationships, your work, your habits, and your environment, to understand what is keeping you stuck.

2. Planning: We don't just sit and vent week after week. Together, we build a concrete, bite-sized action plan. We figure out what a "good day" looks like for you and map out clear, manageable steps to achieve it.

3. Learning: My ultimate goal is to give you total autonomy. I teach you practical, evidence-based psychological tools (drawing from CBT, ACT, and Motivational Interviewing) so you leave with a personal toolkit to manage your well-being long after our sessions end.
